Dr Cristiano Marantes

CEO of Ara Ake – Aotearoa’s future energy centre, supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy future.

Dr Cristiano Marantes is the Chief Executive of Ara Ake, an organisation leading and facilitating the development of low-emissions energy innovation and technology in New Zealand. Marantes has a passion for enabling the future, through strong leadership, innovation and knowledge of new low emissions energy solutions.

Prior to his role at Ara Ake, Cristiano held positions at Vector Limited, as GM of Product, Technology & Innovation, and Head of Engineering, as well as positions at UK Power Networks as Head of Low Carbon Innovation, Head of Business Change & Business Transformation, and Chief Strategy and Regulation Officer. Throughout his career he has focused on the design and development of new technology and commercial low emissions energy solutions, and has represented Vector as a Global Partner for the Elemental Excelrator, where he assisted start-ups with the demonstration and commercialization of their solutions.
