Heidi Parks

Champion for disability awareness and accessibility from Kawerau, and Local Impact Award winner 2021.


Based in Kawerau in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Heidi was born with a condition called spina bifida and has been in a wheelchair her whole life. Now 18 years-old, Heidi is a staunch advocate for accessibility and raising awareness for people with disabilities.

Heidi is an alumni of the Future Leaders programme run by New Zealand charity Inspiring Stories. Her advocacy and leadership was recognised by Inspiring Stories as part of The Impact Awards in 2021, where Heidi was awarded the Local Impact Award.

Heidi is also involved with the Kawerau Youth Council, and is a full-time student studying Business Administration and Technology Level 3.
