Jey Chan

Start-up Support Coordinator at the United Nations Development Programme and Youth Co:Lab

Born and raised in Singapore, Jey has had experiences in a few remarkable places: from undergoing military training at the desert of Jhansi, India to teaching English in the high mountains of Kyrgyzstan. He moved to Hong Kong in 2014 to join Inter Cultural Education, a social enterprise that aims to connect people to understand the world, and has since worked with 100+ educational institutions across the Asia Pacific region ranging from primary schools to universities. Jey was invited by the global law firm, Hogan Lovells, to share about his social entrepreneurship journey in 2017 and was a TEDx speaker at The City University of Hong Kong sharing about the benefits of connecting with strangers.

He is concurrently serving as a Start-up Support Coordinator with Youth Co:Lab, an initiative co-led by the United Nations Development Programme and Citi, to match young and promising social entrepreneurs across Asia-Pacific with investment opportunities, mentorship and award nominations. Since 2017, the Youth Co:Lab team has benefited more than 8000 young entrepreneurs and helped launch or improve over 1000 youth-led social enterprises, all with the aim to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
