Mavis Mullins

Mavis Mullins began her professional career as a wool classer in her family shearing business, now known as Paewai Mullins Shearing Ltd. After Mavis went on to manage the company they became the first shearing organisation in the world to achieve an ISO 9002 accreditation. In 2002, Mavis was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the wool industry. 

Since then, Mavis has held positions on the Massey University Council, the Mid-Central and Wairarapa District Health Boards, the Landcorp board, and has worked as the Director for 2degrees.

Today, Mavis holds positions on the board at UNICEF Aotearoa NZ, StockX New Zealand, Hawkes Bay Rugby Union, Atihau Whanganui Incorporation, is the chairman of Taratahi Agricultural Learning Institute and is the director of ​​Paewai Mullins Systems and Paewai Mullins Shearing. Mavis is also a trustee and former chair of Rangitane Tu Mai Ra is the Post Governance Settlement Entity (PGSE), which receives and manages the Treaty Settlement assets on behalf of Rangitane Wairarapa and Tamaki Nui a Rua. 

In 2016 Mavis won the Rural category at the New Zealand Women of Influence, and was also named University of Auckland Business School Aotearoa Maori Business Leaders Awards' inaugural Business Woman of the Year. In 2017, Mavis was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame.
