The founder making a circular economy the norm in Aotearoa New Zealand

Samantha is the Founder and CEO of Little Yellow Bird, a social enterprise that is normalising circular approaches to design, production and consumption. Little Yellow Bird makes transparent and fully circular apparel. The company supplies products to over 400 organisations in New Zealand, from local cafes through to large corporations like NZ Post and Air New Zealand. Little Yellow Bird is the first company in New Zealand to offer a textile take back scheme which enables individuals to send back any 100% cotton product to be recycled at the end of its useful life. 

Samantha's background is in Supply Chain Management. She served as a Logistics Officer in the Royal New Zealand Air Force for six years before setting up Little Yellow Bird. Samantha has a Masters in International Security and a Masters in Engineering Management, is an Edmund Hillary Fellow and was recognised as New Zealand's Young Innovator of the year in 2017. In 2019 Little Yellow Bird won their category and the Supreme award at the Sustainable Business Network Awards.
